Poisonous Birds & Frogs

The Hooded Pitohui, Pitohui dichrous is the first documented poisonous birds. A neurotoxin; homobatrachotoxin which can repel and kill lice found in its skin and feathers. Bird acquires poison from diet (link), the Choresine beetle; a likely source of lethal batrachotoxins found in poison dart frogs.
