The UK, Australia and New Zealand have already urged Japan to call off this year's hunt which will target humpback whales. Now, US joins the international controversy of Japan's largest-ever whaling expedition.
This year, the Japanese annual immense whaling in the Antarctic has been temporarily suspended for a year or two due to world pressure and criticism until the International Whaling Commission (IWC) could "normalising" its functions.
Although Japan has claimed that whaling is necessary for scientific research, but other countries said whaling is extremely inhumane to vulnerable and innocent creatures.
