Odds Of Asteroid Hitting Mars Reduced


The latest update has saddened the scientists as the chances of an asteroid hitting the Mars has become less likely. The asteroid, dubbed 2007 WD5, was discovered in late November by the NASA-funded Catalina Sky Survey in Arizona.

The approaching chances drop to 2.5% compared to 4% as lately released on late December. Now the scientists should feel sad due to the reduced possibility to view the cosmic collision on jan 30.

International Robotic Rivalry In Space


Everyone is keeping on invading into the space!! They send robot crafts into the space which has so many existing on duty spacecrafts.

Now what? Nations have know-how skill to explore solar system such as Europe which has dispatched probes to Moon, Mars and Venus. Meanwhile, Japan's Kaguya and China's Chang'e 1 lunar orbiters have just settled into the mission of surveying the Moon respectively. India is set to orbit Moon with Chandrayaan-1 in 2008. German is also preparing for a future robotic lunar mission.

Seems like there are lots more upcoming discovery of the universe.

Asteroid May Hit Mars; Ahead Another For The Earth!!

Astronomers and researchers lately talking about the chances of an asteroid slam into Mars which is expected to be happened by next month. Chances of the hit are however low which is 1-in-75. What a great relief as the space rock slamming is not going to hit the inhabited Earth!!

Hold on!! A recent article in the Orlando Sentinel stated that on April 13, 2036, there is a 1-in-6250 chance that an asteroid named "Apophis" could strike the planet with enough force to disintergrate a state. Nasa is busy tracking it to see its heading direction.

Nasa Spacecraft New Discovery For Northen Lights


NASA spaceship discovered the new findings of forces that northern lights, also known as aurora borealis are fueled by magnetic "ropes" linking the Earth and the Sun. The findings were presented at a teleconference at the fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco. However, how is the energy of the Sun triggering aurora is still under studied by scientists.

Giant Spider Walking Across Camera Lens Facing Atlantis Space Shuttle


Atlantis space shuttle has been delayed until January due to the failure of fuel gauge on the external tank. Meanwhile, a giant spider which could be seen in this video clip was walking across the camera lens on Sunday.

China, Launch of Mars Probe Set In 2009

A launch of China's first Mars probe set 'Yinghuo-1' weighing 110 kg, in October 2009!!! Leading country further to space exploration.

'Yinghuo-1' will reach the preset circling orbit, conduct scientific exploration tasks and send back the first images of red planet in September 2010.

The micro-satellite is still being subjected to series of experiments, and next May, its compatibility with the Russian spacecraft will be tested. Read more
