China Has Set New Guidelines To Ban Horror Movies

Do you know? China has a new list of banned video and audio content lately. The banned content has involved all ghost, monster, demon, inhuman portrayal, strange and supernatural storytelling.

Tape producers are urged to report those banned content to authorities (General Administration of Press and Publications) if there is any. As reported, the new guidelines aim to control and cleanse the negative effect these items have on society, and to prevent horror, violent, cruel publications from entering the market through official channels and to protect youth's psychological health.

Lately, the stationery notebooks based on the manga (a.k.a. Death Note) has been banned as in Death Note (originated from anime series), any person whose name is written in the notebook will die. Obviously, the officials are afraid of students will write the names of teachers and classmates in the notebook. Doesn't it sound ridiculous? Movie is movie, it is not real!

Thus, adult and kids are sharing the same grade of movie?? For my understanding, watching horror movie or something that is excited than usual mundane life is actually helping us to release tension. So where can adult seek for comfort after this?

As for human nature, the more they ban it, the more people want it. Let's wait and see...
