A 17-year-old Beijing student, Lingling (assumed name) attempted an unsuccessful suicide after being unable to register for the national college entrance exam due to inconsistencies in her residency documents, or hukou. She gulped nitrite powder on the street! She was then suffered from horrible pain and unable to move yet she was sent to hospital on time by classmate.
